Lara Bowman was hired in November 2020 as the CEO of the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce. Bowman was hired to establish and lead the newly formed regional organization. Prior to coming to Cleveland, Bowman was hired to form and lead The Enterprise of Mississippi, a new regional economic development organization where she focused on developing and obtaining funding for industrial product development and creating jobs and increasing capital investment through existing business and industry. Her background boasts experience in human resources, non-profit organizational management and university level outreach work providing training to business and industry in technology applications.
Bowman has obtained her Professional Community Economic Development (PCED) certification and is a Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator through BREI. Bowman received her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi State University with a graduate level Certificate in Economic Development. Bowman is an active Rotarian, member of the Mississippi Economic Development Council, Southeast Economic Development Council and Mississippi Manufacturers Association.
Lara is married to Trey and they have one son, Bo.
